Ken is the founder and President of KRI Properties. He has more than 23 years of significant real estate, banking, private equity transaction and principal investing experience. Throughout his career, he has been involved in transactions valued in excess of $1.5 billion, much of which has included the acquisition, management and financing of various multi-family real estate projects as well as playing a significant role as a member of due diligence and transaction structure planning teams for several private equity firms specializing in the small and middle markets.
Prior to forming KRI Properties, Ken was a tax manager with Deloitte & Touche LLP where he focused his practice on state and local tax planning, merger and acquisition due diligence and transaction structure planning for private equity and middle market companies. Some of his major clients included The Riverside Company, Key Equity Capital Partners, Blue Point Capital, Linsalata Capital Partners, The Zaremba Group, Charter One Bank and Applied Industrial Technologies, Inc.
Prior to his career at Deloitte & Touche, Ken spent several years at National City Bank where he served as commercial loan officer, credit analyst, branch manager, and mortgage loan originator during his career with the bank.
Unrelated to his real estate experience, Ken also owned and operated several certified Cessna Pilot Centers in the Northern Ohio area. These Cessna Pilot Centers operated an FAA approved professional pilot school and specialized in the sale of new and pre-owned aircraft.
Ken is a licensed Ohio Certified Public Accountant (inactive) as well as a licensed Real Estate Broker in the states of Florida and Ohio. He received his master's degree from Case Western Reserve University's Weatherhead School of Management and his B.B.A. from the University of Toledo. He is a member of the National Apartment Association, Florida Apartment Association, Bay Area Apartment Association (Tampa, FL), First Coast Apartment Association (Jacksonville, FL), Northeast Ohio Apartment Association, Shaker Square Area Development Corporation, Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Amy began her career in property management in 1994. Since then, she has managed numerous types of apartment communities including new construction, student housing, senior communities, LIHTC, conventional, HUD, subsidized, and even historic properties. During her 20+ year career, she has worked for some of the largest property management companies (20,000 units+) as well as various smaller property management companies.
Because she started her career in a property management position and worked her way to the top, she has learned this business from the ground up. We believe that experience puts her in the perfect position to be an outstanding mentor, coach, and leader to the KRI operations team.
Amy’s credentials include numerous honors from the Bay Area Apartment Association as well as many of her previous employers for excellence in the industry. Finally, she currently serves as a Board Director for the Bay Area Apartment Association since 2013 and is a member of both the Florida Apartment Association and The National Apartment Association.
Kate joined KRI’s team in 2017 as a Regional Manager in Tampa, Florida. She started her career in property management in 2010 as a Leasing Consultant and has worked her way up the corporate ladder to the Regional Manager position she holds today. She has managed properties ranging in size from 72 – 300 units. She holds the Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) designation and is a member of the Bay Area Apartment Association and the National Apartment Association.
Stephanie has been with KRI since 2013. During this time, she managed several properties on the west side of Cleveland totaling approximately 180 units. In 2016, Stephanie was promoted to Regional Manager position and has overall responsibility for properties located in northern Ohio.
Kim joined the KRI team in 2016 as an assistant Controller and has responsibility for all aspects of our internal and external financial reporting as well as continued development of internal controls and back office processes.
Prior to joining KRI, Kim began her career in the financial and accounting area in 1995. Since that time, she has held several positions with various regional and Fortune 500 companies where her responsibilities included all areas of accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting while utilizing her operational background to help integrate back oce processes, technology, and internal controls into the company’s operations.
KRI is partnered with myHR Partner for all our human resource needs. Through that partnership, we have access to the most up to date human resource solutions available. Erin McAteer is our HR Manager. As an HR Manager, Erin provides dedicated HR management services, acting as the day-to-day contact for all our people.
Erin earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. She has managed HR functions in the chemical, biotech, manufacturing, and staffing industries. This experience includes recruitment, employee relations, benefits, policy development and administration, and training.
Erin has held her Professional Human Resources (PHR) certification since 2009, and earned the Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification in 2015. She also holds a certificate in Human Resources Management from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
